Star Trek - For the World Is Hollow
Just as the old man in the Star Trek episode stated - THE WORLD IS HOLLOW AND I HAVE JUST TOUCHED THE SKY;
so it is today with climate change. Our scientists have touched the sky however there are those who have
money and power in our world and they have decided to make them look insane or foolish. It is difficult for an industry or a nation state to understand its past practices are ruining the planet upon which it lives. This defense mechanism just as seen in this old Star Trek episode is to perpetuate a falsehood. A falsehood continues to keep those in power whether it be by money or what money can buy or influence, which now has reached the end point, a point where perpetuating the game will kill everything on the planet. It is difficult for these people to understand that now comes the end of the Faustian game, it is over. Or in Star Trek terms Yardra is seen to be the flimflam artist that is, as in Star Trek The Next Generation. These metaphors I hope provide the capacity for the world to begin to understand the governments, special interests, monetary interests, and those who supply fossil fuels have arranged a world so that those who found the truth can be labeled but THE WORLD IS HOLLOW AND I HAVE TOUCHED THE SKY and be eventually killed off just as the old man in the Star Trek episode was. Unfortunately the inevitability of the science just as in the Star Trek episode showing that the world (actually a hollowed out asteroid that has been traveling for 10,000 years will collide with an inhabited planet Darren five, the population over 3 billion), unless it changes course it will collide and destroy the planet. This provides a fitting parallel to today's circumstances. For science has indeed found that fossil fuels are polluting the very air that we breathe and causing the planet to change irrevocably. This time it's not an outside event, an asteroid or even an event of the planet itself such as an exploding volcano or some other geological planetary intervention it is human beings. Homo sapiens have been involved in burning fossil fuels for thousands of years however in the last 200 years or so we have changed the composition of the atmosphere. That irrevocable statement is setting into motion the changes that soon no human will have the capacity to stop. Brave men today little known by many such as Dr. James Hansen and Dr. McGibbon's and others are working to try to change that circumstance. They are the front-line heroes of today's episode of making men and women who found the truth look insane or foolish. The sad part is the denial by monetary interests, their special security forces as well as those they purchased and buy governments to quash these individuals and their movements will be buried by the same science. What they don't understand is that the genie is out of the bottle and those who ignore the science today will be seen as tomorrow's greedy, oh yes they may be dead, however for the last several hundred years they have invented, stolen, or purchased technologies to keep their businesses and interests alive no matter what the cost. Keep your eye the prize I do believe is the phrase. It's important not to injure those who raise the contrary point of view or the science affiliated to it. There should always be room for dissent in society today it is scientists who are now in the same situation as Galileo all those hundreds of years ago that the universe is not quite what we thought was and now it's on a collision course with destiny a destiny that could kill hundreds of millions of people, cause economic havoc, and worst of all bring to an end large cities especially those in Asia who have been in existence for hundreds of years. It is time for these entities to think or to sink. So hail to the scientists who finally have the answer that THE WORLD IS HOLLOW AND I HAVE TOUCHED THE SKY. They only need to compete with forces with a couple of trillion dollars so what is the choice the gold or the planet, which do you choose? To those who may criticize my Star Trek metaphor I would remind them it is a television series that helped build a studio.
